1 Million Dollars, Relief Materials And Volunteers On The Way To Quake-stricken Nepal From HNA Group
BEIJING, April 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- HNA Group has decided to donate 1 million dollars to earthquake-stricken Nepal via Hainan Liberation Commonweal Foundation to help with rescue work and reconstruction. At the same time, HNA Group will facilitate the arrangement of volunteers and relief materials under national deployment.
After the earthquake, HNA Group contacted, as soon as possible, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC, Chinese Embassy in Nepal, Embassy of Nepal in Beijing, CAAC (Civil Aviation Administration of China) and CFPA (China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation), to understand the urgent needs. HNA Group has tried its best to assist the rescue by overcoming the difficulty that they have no airlines to Nepal. The HNA volunteer team is on action that is experienced in earthquake rescue missions and participated in operations for the deadly quakes in Yvshu, Wenchuan and Ludian in recent years. The volunteer team manages to organize 10-20 volunteers who are able to assist in emergency rescue, proficiency in foreign language and tough physical conditions. As a country rooted in Buddhism, many believers in China have sent blessings to victims of the earthquake. Under the management of venerable master Yin Shun in Hongfa Temple in Shenzhen Province, they are organizing the volunteers, collecting tents and water. HNA Group responded swiftly to co-operate with Hongfa Temple, with the intention of collecting and sending supplies on HNA flights. HNA Group will transport relief supplies, HNA volunteer teams and volunteers from other groups. HNA Group will also assist the Chinese Embassy in Nepal and Zhonghua Temple in Nepal with the subsequent relief work.
One subsidiary company of HNA Group named Deer Jet, specializing in medical rescue is applying for airline and will be prepared to leave at a moment's notice.
