BEIJING, February 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
List draws from the 2016 Best Chinese University Ranking report based on Scopus data and SciVal analytics
Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, has announced its 2016 list of China's most influential researchers, which is now available online here.
This is the second edition of Elsevier's annual list of Most Cited Chinese Researchers, recognizing 1,744 researchers in China across 38 different subject areas.
Developed in collaboration with ShanghaiResearch Consultancy, who provided the selection criteria, the list draws from the recently-released 2016 Best Chinese University Ranking report that is anchored on Elsevier's Scopus research database and powered by metrics from SciVal analytics - both part of the Elsevier Research Intelligence portfolio.
In line with China's continued efforts to establish itself as a leader in the field of international research, the list provides an important platform through which the community of researchers driving this progress can gain greater recognition and exposure.
"As China continues to grow its research output and the impact of that research increases, ShanghaiRanking Consultancy plays an important role in the promotion of the research excellence of Chinese universities," said M'hamed el Aisati, Director of Content & Analytics, Elsevier. "Elsevier's Scopus database and SciVal analytical tools are well-positioned to support SRC with their Best Chinese University Ranking reports to enable Chinese universities to set strategic priorities, make investment decisions and shape research development policies for the future."
