AACSB International Names Timothy Mescon as Senior Vice President and Chief Officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa
TAMPA, Florida, Sept. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- AACSB International (AACSB) announces the appointment of Timothy S. Mescon, Ph.D., as the first Senior Vice President and Chief Officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Mescon, who currently serves as the president of Columbus State University, will assume his role with AACSB beginning in January 2015.
As senior vice president and chief officer, Dr. Mescon will guide the association's efforts within Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and will direct a new AACSB headquarters based out of the Netherlands. In support of AACSB's mission to advance quality management education worldwide, Mescon will help to facilitate the development of a stronger mentorship program focused on providing a solid foundation for schools within emerging and transitional economies.

Mescon became Columbus State University's fourth president in August 2008. Previously, he was dean for 18 years at the Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University, and founding dean of the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University in Maryland. He also served on the faculties of Arizona State University and the University of Miami, and as a visiting lecturer at universities in England, China and Israel.
Mescon is the co-author of four books, and has published more than 200 articles and case studies. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia, an MBA from Southern Methodist University and a B.A. from Tulane University.
