Acision and Telefonica Latin America Sign Messaging Framework Agreement

Acision, a world leader in mobile data, today announced it will deploy a comprehensive open services architecture at Telefonica Latin America. Acision will roll out its messaging infrastructure including SMS, MMS and Enterprise Messaging, to address the growing demand for richer messaging services in the region. By working with Acision, Telefonica Latin America, which forms part of the Telefonica Group - one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world - will benefit from better time to market of new, differentiated messaging services as well as increasing the efficiency of its messaging infrastructure.
The Latin American market continues to show significant growth in mobile messaging, which is driving demand for new services tailored for specific market segments such as enterprises. The partnership with Acision will enable Telefonica Latin America to deliver next generation messaging services to its consumer and business users, providing additional value, personalisation, flexibility and productivity. Acision's messaging solution will consist of the Acision SMSC, Acision MMSC, Acision Application Gateway and Acision Enterprise Messaging. These solutions will enable Telefonica to leverage their existing network assets and quickly bring to market a wide range of rich messaging services and applications, packaged around individual users and businesses.
