"It is the first time that the Business Traveller Awards have taken place in Russia and we are therefore especially glad that Aeroflot took top prizes in three nominations. Being named Europe's best airline is the result of our consistent focus on service and substantial investment in this area of our business," said Giorgio Callegari, Aeroflot's Deputy CEO for Strategy and Alliances.
"Aeroflot not only maintains its leading positions in expert ratings, but now has also received worldwide passenger recognition as Europe's best airline," Giorgio Callegari said.
Established by Business Traveller magazine, the leading magazine for frequent flyers, the Business Traveller Awards have been held annually since 1988 and this year was held in Russia for the first time. Business Traveller Awards are some of the most coveted in the industry, mainly due to their impartiality, with winners determined by a readers' poll.
The awards once again underscore Aeroflot's status as one of the leading European and global airlines. Aeroflot maintains a constant focus on increasing service quality, both in the air and on the ground. In 2016, Russia's leading airline was awarded Four Star Airline Status by UK consulting agency Skytrax, the world's leading source of airline reviews and ratings. Aeroflot was also named Best Airline in Eastern Europe for the fifth time at the Skytrax World Airline Awards.
