Africa24 Media Celebrates African Broadcasters
NAIROBI, Kenya, May 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Africa24 MEDIA, the continent's premiere Pan African international quality media production house, announces the Mohamed Amin African Media Awards (MAAMA's), to be inaugurated in Nairobi in 2015. To get ready for this seminal event honoring African broadcasters, media houses, journalists and filmmakers, Africa24 MEDIA is sending its COO & Senior Executive Producer, Daniel Furnad, on a continent-wide tour to identify excellence in our craft.
Mohamed Amin, Africa's legendary video and photographic journalist, worked his whole life to bring creativity and quality to his chosen field. The Mohamed Amin Foundation has trained scores of young people in television production and there are two photography awards bearing his name at the CNN African Journalist Awards and the annual NewsXchange event. Now Africa has matured and it's time to celebrate the outstanding achievements in all of our media, but especially broadcasting.
Daniel Furnad will be coming to see the quality of the best TV stations in various countries, looking for innovative programming, excellent newscasts, and Pan African themes. He will offer free consulting as well as an opportunity to engage on his global experience producing TV content. A former producer at CNN and executives with both Associated Press Television and Abu Dhabi TV, Mr. Furnad has had a 30-year run in TV in North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and now Africa, where he sees an explosion in locally produced content on the horizon.
So, join Africa24 MEDIA in celebrating Africa's great broadcast and media accomplishments, and let's work together to build content we can be proud of. To enquire about participating in the MAAMA's or to book an appointment with Mr. Furnad, contact us at a24team@a24media.com or on +254737043811.
