Allot Announces LTE Order From Asian Tier 1 Operator
BOSTON, Massachusetts, February 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Allot Service Gateway Enabling Smooth Transition From 3G to LTE
Allot Communications Ltd. (NASDAQ: ALLT), a leading supplier of service optimization and revenue generation solutions for fixed and mobile broadband service providers worldwide announced today it has received a follow-on order from an Asian Tier 1 mobile operator to support an LTE network rollout. The order includes the deployment of multiple Allot Service Gateway platforms to provide centralized policy control and charging, enabling the operator to drive new revenues by implementing value-based charging and offering its subscribers innovative service plans.
The announcement today, following the September 2011 announcement of the Service Gateway Tier 1 European LTE deployment, reinforces Allot's value in enhncing LTE network rollouts.
"Service providers are coming to realize that while LTE represents a huge opportunity for operators to improve the way they deliver Internet to subscribers in terms of throughput, they also require network intelligence to offer a wide range of services and service plans, and have the ability to charge for them," said Rami Hadar, Allot's President and CEO. "We believe that our Service Gateway performance, coupled with the widest range of value-based services available on a single platform, will keep our 3G customers coming back to us as they prepare to evolve into 4G."
Acting as a nerve center in the network, Allot Service Gateway enables operators to expand their role in the Internet value chain by providing vital information on applications, subscribers and network topology. This knowledge is crucial to implementing Intelligent Charging models which enable the monetization of OTT applications such as video, social networking and more.
