Allscripts Developer Program Partner Elsevier Achieves Certification for Interactive Patient Education for Infobutton
PHILADELPHIA, September 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --
Elsevier, the information analytics business specializing in science and health, announced today that Allscripts has certified Elsevier's Interactive Patient Education as part of the award-winning Allscripts Developer Program (ADP). Elsevier's Interactive Patient Education for Infobutton enables Allscripts ambulatory electronic health record (EHR) users to access patient-friendly, evidence-based education content within their workflow.
With the integration into Allscripts Sunrise™, Allscripts TouchWorks® EHR and Allscripts Professional EHR™, content is delivered via Infobutton, a one-touch service that links the Elsevier patient education content database to Allscripts users. This enables healthcare providers to quickly assign education, track patient progress and document the information shared. Interactive Patient Education includes instructions for 3,800 conditions and diseases, 700 health topics, information sheets for all FDA-approved and many over-the-counter drugs, and lab test education. It provides the information patients need to better understand their diagnoses, adhere to their treatment plan and make positive choices that benefit their long-term health.
With Interactive Patient Education for Infobutton, Allscripts clients can:
- Enjoy quick and easy access to relevant content within existing patient care workflow
- Leverage evidence-based, peer-reviewed education that is current with the latest medical practices and guidelines
- Improve patient understanding and participation through use of consistent, easy-to-understand information
- Support key regulatory requirements, accreditation standards and evidence-based care practice initiatives
"This new Infobutton certified app will enable us to help Allscripts users by providing them with patient education consistent with the content clinicians use. With this information and guidance, patients can better understand their specific conditions or treatments, and take appropriate action," said Sonika Mathur, SVP & GM, Patient Engagement, Elsevier. "Our mission is to partner with health providers in their efforts to improve patient engagement and care team collaboration, and in the delivery of value-based care."
The ADP enables third-parties to build integrations quickly that enhance Allscripts EHR and practice management products. The Allscripts Open platform facilitates bi-directional application programming interfaces (APIs) that are transforming healthcare delivery, exchanging about 1 billion elements of data every year.
