"An Excellent set of Results" in 2011 say British American Tobacco in Video Interview
LONDON, February 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
The tobacco manufacturer British American Tobacco has posted results that have seen organic revenue up 7% and adjusted EPS up 11% .
In an interview with MerchantCantos.com, Chief Executive Nicandro Durante said that "if you bear in mind the current economic climate, it was indeed a very good performance."
Finance Director Ben Stevens added: "We've grown market share. We've grown share of all our key segments. The volume decline we've experienced over the last few years is now moderating and pricing has remained strong."
The interviews cover acquisitions and balance sheet, regulation including plain packaging, and the performance across BAT's regions and brands. It was a particularly strong year for the company's four Global Drive Brands, which grew 9% over the year, including volume growth of 14% for the iconic Lucky Strike brand.
BAT is very confident for 2012, said Durante, adding: "We have a winning strategy, we have a geographic spread and we have powerful brands and outstanding people."
