"She is simply outstanding and the only person we spoke to. She was happy in her current role but the entrepreneurial opportunity to leverage the power of the Anomaly brand and platform was too compelling for her to resist…" said Johnson.
He continued "…we have grown by over 400% globally in the last four years and it's about time our London office was as good as New York or Toronto or Shanghai. Frankly, I've been irritated at our inability to translate what's special about Anomaly into that market. We have had a sustained surge of growth in New York and a strategic opportunity to open a superb office in Shanghai, but now we will have renewed focus on expanding the UK.
"We have world-class talent and clients that include Budweiser, Converse, Diageo, Google and P&G in multiple offices – there's now no excuse for us not to be a force in London.
"This is exactly what Camilla's leadership skills prepare her for and we're excited.
"UK clients cannot be immune to the forces of change that are wreaking havoc to businesses, media landscapes and budgets globally and most agencies are not set up to handle the new world. We were created specifically for this challenge with a clear agenda to lead the transformation of the agency model.
"An agency like ours, though, is only as strong as the Partnership – following bad luck, bad chemistry, bad casting and bad decision-making by me, we have finally got the chance to bring Anomaly proper to London."
This completes the London Partner line-up with Camilla joining Oli Beale & Alex Holder (Executive Creative Directors, previously at Mother London); and reuniting with Stuart Smith, the Chief Strategy Officer, with whom she worked previously at Wieden+Kennedy (after which, Stuart went on to lead Strategy at Google Creative Labs in New York).
At the same time Ben Moore, current Partner in London, will move to become Director – Global Development with a specific brief to work with Carl to ensure that everything in the way of knowledge, talent, tools and technology is in place to ensure that 1+1=3 across the significantly larger Anomaly global office footprint.
"Ben is very smart with lots of excellent international experience but was miscast by me – this will suit him and us much better as we continue to expand and evolve with our clients."
