"Cultivating ongoing, positive relationships with our existing customers is a top priority for us," said APR Energy Chief Executive Officer, John Campion. "I strongly believe that the loyalty of these customers is not only a testament to their satisfaction for the service they have received, but also confirms the confidence they have with APR as a leader in the temporary power industry."
APR Energy has been operating its diesel powered facility outside of Francistown, Botswana for two years, and its power plant located in Kossodo, Burkina Faso since mid-2011. The contract extensions will continue the current outputs of each plant, with APR continuing to provide all operation and maintenance support for the duration of the contract.
The 70MW, diesel powered project located near Francistown, Botswana was initially requested by the BPC as a solution to supplement electricity that was being imported from neighboring countries. At the time it was installed, the APR Francistown project was the largest temporary power station of its kind to be implemented within the Southern African Power Pool.
The 30MW diesel power plant located in Kossodo, Burkina Faso, was installed by APR Energy in mid-2011 as an interim solution to help meet the rapidly increasing local electricity demand until a more permanent power plant could be brought online by the national utility.
