NICOSIA, Cyprus, June 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- APR Energy is proud to announce the operation of its 120MW diesel-fired power plant, located just east of Limassol, Cyprus. APR Energy signed a contract in May with the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) to provide a peak season solution in time for the Mediterranean summer. Using its latest enhancements in plant design, deployment and logistics, APR Energy was able to prepare the site and have the plant installed and operational within 20 days of equipment arrival – ahead of the contracted schedule.

"The speed at which we can now deploy a plant, as seen in the case of Cyprus and other recent installations, is a direct result of the intensive focus we have placed on plant design and processes over the last several months," said APR Energy President and Chief Operating Officer, Laurence Anderson. "APR Energy's Cyprus plant combines our fast-track installation approach with technology that offers a more fuel-efficient source of electricity than traditional temporary power generation equipment. It serves as a great example of how temporary power solutions can be applied within well-established markets such as Europe and the US."
The installation and operation of the power facility in Cyprus marks APR Energy's first power solution within Europe, and aligns with its strategy to expand its reach into that power market.
In accordance with its ongoing contract with EAC, APR Energy will continue all operation and maintenance of the power facility for the duration of the contract.
