Business Secretary Dr Vince Cable gave the welcome address and Foreign Office Minister Hugo Swire presented the award to Mr Premji as diplomats and senior figures from the international business community looked on. The evening was supported by HSBC.
The annual Asia House award recognises those individuals who embody the 'Servant Leader' - economic success and professional excellence accompanied by moral leadership and service to society.
