Attendees Confirm Building Services - The CIBSE Conference and Exhibition as Premier Show for Industry
LONDON, October 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Representatives from across the Building Services Sector came together last Week for the Industry's leading Conference & Exhibition
The team behind Building Services - CIBSE Conference & Exhibition are celebrating another successful year for the annual industry gathering. A packed conference schedule that bought international experts along with a show floor hosting some of the biggest names in the industry, meant attendees were quick to praise the show.
With more exhibitors, visitors, speakers and education sessions than ever before, Building Services - The CIBSE Conference & Exhibition proved to be the new annual global platform for the building services industry and its related sectors.
Desmond Kenny, Executive Mechanical Engineer for Hoare Lee Consultants, said: "Building Services - The CIBSE Conference & Exhibition helps the industry increase their knowledge and awareness of what is out there at the moment, it is a great place to see what other solutions are on offer."
Designing, engineering, integrating, managing and collaborating were the key themes for this year, offering visitors, delegates and exhibitors the opportunity to share knowledge and the latest thinking whilst viewing the most up to date technological innovations within the industry across the exhibition floor.
CIBSE President, David Fisk, said: "We have had a really positive response to the annual conference and the exhibition. We set out to provide both our members and the wider industry with a thought-provoking and inspiring conference programme. That was especially important given the challenges the whole industry is currently facing. Bringing together suppliers, senior managers, decision makers and those working across the built environment created great discussion across the two days."
The keynote address from Paul Morrell OBE, Chief Construction Advisor to the Government, explored the challenges and opportunities around financing in the future whilst reminding the audience that innovation will remain essential. Additional speakers across the two days included David Mathieson, Director, Turner & Townsend, Neil Billett, Partner and London Office Managing Director, Buro Happold, Myles McCarthy, Managing Director, Carbon Trust Implementation Services and Stephen Hamil, Director of Design and Innovation & Head of BIM at NBS.
Stephen Hamil said of his session: "The BIM section of the CIBSE conference was particularly interesting, and when developing objects for service engineering it is clear that a number of things must be considered. BIM for service engineering is definitely a topic to watch and I look forward to the 2013 CIBSE conference."
As CIBSE's flagship event, the Exhibition attracted building services professionals and suppliers from across the industry, providing the ideal platform for showcasing and interacting with all the latest innovations, services and products.
Harold De Vries from Samsung Electronics (UK), who this year exhibited at the event, said: "Building Services - CIBSE Conference & Exhibition is very important for us as a manufacturer, we have generated a lot of new leads and we have met a lot of new people interested in our products."
Building Services - The CIBSE Conference & Exhibition was co-located with the UK's leading energy management event, Energy Solutions, which this year hosted Lord Sebastian Coe KBE as its keynote speaker, The FM Event and the Global Security Summit London.
Building Services - The CIBSE Conference & Exhibition will take place next year on 9th to 10th October 2013. For further information please visit http://www.buildingservicesevent.com.
