The twenty-fifth edition of Barcelona Bridal Week (BBW) will build a bridge between the USA and Europe, making Barcelona the global capital of bridal fashion and bringing in US trends, buyers and retailers to share the spotlight with the leading Spanish bridal firms.
A standout brand in this respect will be the show's guest designer Katharine Polk, the Californian designer and founder of the ready-to-wear and contemporary bridal fashion collections of US brand Houghton, which will be showcasing its bridal wear proposals for 2016 with designs created exclusively for Barcelona Bridal Week.
Between 5 and 8 May a total of 23 firms will appear on the BBW Catwalk with their Spring/Summer 2016 collections. Rosa Clará will be the star turn of the first evening. The show on 6 May will be opened by Natalie Capell and Cristina Tamborero with their new project known as "Barcelona Couture by #mylookRowenta". This will be followed by Jesús Peiró: Miquel Suay; Sabrina Saree; Yolan Cris; Isabel Sanchis and Inmaculada García. On Thursday, shows will include the new bridal and occasion wear collections by Cymbeline; Isabel Zapardiez and Anna Torres; Cabotine by Gema Nicolás; Jordi Dalmau and Matilde Cano; M&M; Patricia Avedaño and occasion wear Sonia Peña. On the final day, presentations include creations by Carla Ruiz; Fuentecapala; and special guest Houghton, followed by US firm Justin Alexander. In the evening, Pronovias will put the finishing touch to the 2015 Catwalk Show.
Meanwhile, the International BBW Show, held between 8 and 10 May, will feature more than 200 brands offering wedding fashions for both brides and grooms, occasion wear and accessories. Half of these brands are international, coming from Germany, Belgium, France, Great Britain, Italy, Lebanon, Portugal, South Korea, Poland, Turkey, Romania, Colombia, Mexico and Brazil, occupying 30,000 sq. m of space in Hall 2 of the Gran Via Exhibition Centre. In addition to trade visitors, over 163 major foreign buyers have confirmed they will be attending the event.
