MANCHESTER, England, March 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Betview magazine is delighted to announce that Betfred has won the Betview Awards category of 'Most Creative Marketing Campaign' for their Deal or No Deal campaign.
The awards honour and recognize industry professionals on their exemplary achievement, ingenuity, creativity and overall hard work within the UK and ROI betting and gaming industry.
Over 700 guests at this year's awards were amazed as they entered the Great Room at the Grosvenor and found this vast space transformed into a rugby stadium - the theme for the evening in anticipation of the forthcoming Rugby World Cup, complete with real turf and rugby posts. The event was once again hosted by former championship jockey and sports broadcaster Clare Balding - as well as England rugby star and World Cup winner Will Greenwood MBE.
Winners received a distinctive and exclusive engraved Betview Awards 2011 trophy, as well as a decanter of the classic Hennessy XO.
Betfred was selected as the winner in the category of 'Most Creative Marketing Campaign'. The judging panel awarded this prestigious award to the project or initiative which has engaged potential customers the most.
Betfred's campaign was a four week retail promotion for the new release of the Deal or No Deal slot game. The campaign took the bold step of blacking out all their shop windows for a week to get everyone talking, then followed up with sampling opportunities using game cards for free play. As a result of this campaign the Deal or No Deal game became the most successful slot game ever for Betfred.
A spokesperson for Betfred commented: "We took a big risk, this was the most controversial campaign we have done and the results have been just fantastic."
"All our winners represent the very best that the British and Irish betting industry has to offer - excellence in customer service and social responsibility coupled with tremendous business acumen and innovative thinking," said Justin O'Regan, editor of Betview Magazine. "These Awards demonstrate why betting operators have an integral role to play in our communities providing as they do an outstanding leisure experience for customers from all walks of life."
