Betfred to Treble the Odds if Dawn Approach Wins Derby by Eight Lengths
MANCHESTER, England, May 31, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Dawn Approach is the red hot favourite ahead of tomorrow's Investec Derby at Epsom and Betfred have announced that if he wins the race by five or more lengths, they will double his odds for anyone who places an SP bet, and treble them if he wins by eight or more.
Jim Bolger's QIPCO 2000 Guineas winner is currently the 5/4 favourite and were he to win at those odds by five or more lengths, anyone who has backed him at SP will be paid out at 5/2 by Betfred.
And if the jolly does the business by eight or more lengths, SP punters would be paid out at an unbelievable 4/1.
This will be second occasion Betfred have offered this concession after Camelot cost the firm over £250,000 when winning last year's Derby by over four lengths.
Betfred boss Fred Done said:
"Dawn Approach ran his rivals into the ground in the Guineas but I'm far from convinced he will do the same in the Derby."
"I'm prepared to double the odds on any SP bet if he wins by five lengths, and I'll even triple them if he hoses up by eight."
"The trading department think I've lost the plot. They tell me four of the last ten Derbys have been won by five or more lengths so there's every chance I could end up with egg on my face."
The offer applies only to SP bets placed from 8:00am tomorrow (Saturday) morning. It does not apply to ante-post, early price or board price bets.
