Beyond Analysis Scoops Top Data Analytics Award for Delivering Incremental Value by Putting Customers at the Heart of a Major Retail Business
SINGAPORE, March 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Company's innovative work for OCBC Bank and Robinsons recognised at Banking & Payments Asia Trailblazers Awards 2013
Customer insight group Beyond Analysis announced today it was awarded, jointly with OCBC Bank, the coveted Service Provider Excellence in Application of Analytics award at the 2013 Banking & Payments Asia Trailblazer Awards. The award recognises the companies' outstanding achievement in delivering incremental revenue to Robinsons department store by helping them to better understand their customers and add value to their co-branded OCBC Bank credit card in a fiercely competitive consumer market.
The award win follows Friday's announcement that STW Group, Australasia's leading marketing content and communications services group, has taken a minority position in the Australian arm of Beyond Analysis to further strengthen its market leading data capabilities.
The prestigious Trailblazer Awards are among the most widely respected in the Asian banking industry, with more than 100 banks competing for the awards on offer. The awards aim to recognise not just the most innovative ideas, but also their practical application and successful results. The 2013 winners were announced this evening at a gala dinner at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel in Singapore.
In the winning project, Beyond Analysis used its powerful analytics tools, Valve™ and C-DNA™, to extract the intelligence locked in the vast amount of data held by the partners (OCBC Bank and Robinsons), including external card billings and in-store data. It then used the results to create unique profiles of customer lifestyles, needs and aspirations. These allowed the partners to develop campaigns and target customers with offers that were both relevant and timely. Customer engagement and response improved dramatically as a result: the 12 month pilot provided a return on investment of more than eight times the initial financial outlay.
Paul Alexander, CEO of Beyond Analysis, said: "We are proud to be recognised by the Trailblazer Awards for our work in applying data analytics. The project was tremendously successful, and the results demonstrate the value of truly understanding your customers and putting them at the heart of your business decisions. Working with the combined data of these leading brands was an exciting challenge for our team; our insight provided an unrivalled depth of understanding from which all the partners could benefit."
Jim McCallum, Head of Asia for Al Futtaim Group, which owns Robinsons, added: "Working with Beyond Analysis has helped us to better understand who our customers are and what matters to them. We hold a wealth of customer data and information across a number of platforms, and thanks to Beyond Analysis we have been able to translate that into meaningful and actionable insight. We are now far more targeted in our customer communications and offers. The results speak for themselves: in just one of our campaigns we delivered a nine per cent uplift in sales."
Thomas Zink, Associate Editor of Banking & Payments Asia. "The partners, OCBC Bank and Robinsons, combined their customer data to improve and supplement customer segmentation and understand the customer behaviour better. By leveraging retail analytics company Beyond Analysis, the partners gained an in-depth understanding of their customers at a far more intimate level and as a result were able to increase top-line sales."
