Mallory Court Hotel, part of the luxury Eden Hotel Collection, is getting ready to welcome 120 diners on October 31st to sample eight exquisite dishes in the collection's fourth annual Battle of Eden. Each dish is to be specially created by a chef from a different hotel.
Eden's Food and Beverage Director, Simon Haigh, will introduce and explain each course without revealing its creator and, at the end of the evening, guests will be asked to vote for their favourite.
In a hotly-fought competition, Adam Brown, head chef at Brockencote Hall Hotel in Worcestershire, clinched 2013's title for the second year running with his carpaccio of venison, with flavours and textures of autumn.
This year Bovey Castle's Head Chef Andrew Storey joins the fray for his first time cooking against his new colleagues. And the pressure is on with many considering him favourite for the title. He said:
'"I am hugely looking forward to taking part in this year's Battle of Eden and can't wait to find out which course I will be cooking. It's a really great opportunity to meet the other head chefs in the group and I'm sure there will be some good spirited team banter going on when we all take over Mallory's kitchens."
Simon Haigh said: "Last year's Battle of Eden produced some outstanding dishes which once again showcased some exciting flavour combinations and innovative techniques.
We're delighted that Bovey Castle has joined Eden Hotel Collection and I look forward to tasting Andrew's creation!"
