Brandworkz Enables Content Delivery Network (CDN) across its Existing Client Base as an Early Christmas Gift
LONDON, December 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Brandworkz, the specialist provider of digital asset management and marketing management technology today announces that it will enable Amazon Cloudfront Content Delivery Network (CDN) on the Brandworkz platform at no extra charge for existing customers, as an early Christmas present.
Enabling CDN means that downloads for users will be faster, especially in geographies furthest from London or New York where Brandworkz hosts its servers.
A CDN is a network of thousands of caching servers spread around the globe. The most-used files from any client's Brandworkz platform get copied out to these servers, enabling them to be downloaded faster. For instance, if an end-user in Yokohama, Japan downloads a file from Brandworkz, that file goes via a local caching server in Tokyo and gets cached or stored there. The next time a user in that region requests the same file, it will be served directly from the local caching server making download faster as the item is available from a more local server location.
The major benefits to clients are:
- Faster downloads - especially for end-users geographically located far away from the main servers in London or New York.
- Less impact on the overall speed of a client's site when it is busy.
When a site is experiencing a peak in activity, most of the download traffic will be offloaded onto the CDN and the site will stay more responsive.
Andrew Twitchett, Head of Development at Brandworkz says 'We are always looking for ways live up to our company value of Client Focus. Enabling CDN for all our clients at no extra charge will enhance their experience of using Brandworkz. We have already had some clients using CDN successfully. In fact the record for one client is over 50,000 downloads in one day!'
Brandworkz is also looking at offering Level3 CDN as a paid-for service which could further increase speeds in other areas of the globe such as South America and Africa.
Brandworkz uses Amazon Cloudfront for CDN. The cache servers are located in:
