British Muslim Community Builds on Faith
LONDON, March 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Third mosque of 2012 unveiled by Ahmadiyya Muslim Community
A British Muslim community has opened its third mosque this year in the UK funded entirely from voluntary donations.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community - one of the earliest Islamic communities in Britain - has established a £500,000 mosque in Hayes, London Borough of Hillingdon, West London. The Baitul Aman Mosque - to serve as a house of peace and security for all - was inaugurated by the world leader of the community, His Holiness Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad.
He said that wherever the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was established, members were ready to be of service to the community and to benefit humanity:
"It is surely our duty to care for and respect one another. And the best way to practically demonstrate this esteem is to consider the feelings and sentiments of each other, because that is the primary way to establish good human values. And, it is the only way to develop an environment filled with peace, justice, reconciliation and brotherhood. It should be our goal to establish such high values in every village, every town, every city, every country, every society and indeed every part of the world."
Speaking at a gathering of local dignitaries and guests, including John McDonnell, MP for Hayes & Harlington and Virendra Sharma, MP for Ealing Southall, His Holiness - the fifth Caliph of the community- wholeheartedly condemned and rejected acts of hatred and terror perpetrated in the name of Islam:
"The truth is that Islam has strictly forbidden terrorism or extremism of any form. Islam's teachings in this regard are absolute and without exception."
National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community UK Mr Rafiq Hayat echoed this sentiment:
"The ethos of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is Love for All, Hatred for None. This is a deeply instilled code of conduct which we strive to manifest in our everyday lives.
"It is through good citizenship, loyalty and service to society that we build bridges between people and communities and heal the divides within society. That is why the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, through the establishment of mosques, is spreading the peaceful message of Islam."
The establishment of the mosque was only made possible due to acts of financial sacrifice by many individuals. Three members of the community alone contributed over £80,000 towards the project. Baitul Aman Mosque is spread over 970M2, with 336M2 covered area and room for 330 worshipers. A picture gallery of the inauguration event is available at http://bit.ly/yue3BG
