Brunswick strengthens Business & Society and Capital Markets Advisory practices
Lianne Stein and Simon Mays-Smith join as partners in New York and San Francisco
LONDON, Nov. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Brunswick Group, a leading corporate advisory firm, announced today that Lianne Stein and Simon Mays-Smith will join the firm as partners. Lianne Stein joins from Boeing where she was vice president, Global Corporate Citizenship. She will be based in New York and will focus on helping to grow Brunswick's global Business & Society practice. Simon Mays-Smith joins from Pearson where he was senior vice president, Investor Relations. Simon will focus on Capital Markets Advisory, and will initially join the firm in London before permanently moving to San Francisco in December.

Lianne Stein
Lianne was the vice president of Global Corporate Citizenship at The Boeing Company. She was responsible for the enterprise Global Corporate Citizenship strategy, directing programs and resources that impact key issues, and working across the Boeing enterprise to partner with organizations and the global communities where Boeing has a presence.
Prior to this appointment, Lianne was vice president of Boeing International and president of Boeing Germany. In that role, she identified and pursued new growth and productivity initiatives, led the country strategy planning process, coordinated company activities in Germany and focused on strengthening local market presence. A strategic focus within her portfolio was to develop and implement research and technology projects together with German universities, research institutes and suppliers.
Her previous positions with Boeing have included vice president of Commercial Aviation for Connexion by Boeing and vice president of Boeing Commercial Airplanes for Washington, D.C. Operations.
From 1991 to 2001, Lianne served as vice president and senior European marketing representative for International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC). During her 10 years at ILFC, she managed a multi-billion dollar fleet of aircraft and negotiated numerous commercial aircraft and engine lease agreements with airlines worldwide.
Before joining ILFC, she was manager of flight training course development at Flying Tigers air freight airline.
Lianne served as a board member for SITA, an international provider of information technology and communications support for air transport customers worldwide. Lianne was also a member of the board of directors of Civic Consulting Alliance, a partnership dedicated to making the city of Chicago more livable, affordable and globally competitive.
Lianne is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles and a licensed private pilot.
Simon Mays-Smith
Simon joins Brunswick from Pearson, the world's learning company, where he has been SVP, Investor Relations since 2006. At Pearson he was a key advisor to CEOs, CFOs and the board on investor relations and financial communications, including an activist shareholder resolution and numerous acquisitions and disposals including the disposals of the Financial Times and Pearson's stake in The Economist Group, the merger of Penguin with Random House, and the acquisitions of Grupo Multi and EmbanetCompass.
Simon managed financial communications around the earnings calendar and senior leadership changes. His team saw 800 investors, in 450 investment firms, in 40 cities in 20 countries across the globe each year and was consistently ranked one of the top investor relations teams in Europe.
Before joining Pearson, Simon worked as an equity analyst for seven years at UBS, JPMorgan and finally as co-head of the Media team at Credit Suisse, which was consistently ranked among the top media research teams in Europe. He researched professional software & services firms, B2B publishing and trade shows, radio, advertising agencies, magazines and newspapers. Simon started his career at Swiss Bank Corporation/SG Warburg in mergers and acquisitions where he worked on the IPO of Newsquest and a financing for Chelsea Football Club.
