The BUAV today announced the launch of GoCrueltyFree.org, the comprehensive online resource for people who want to buy products free from animal testing.
GoCrueltyFree.org is home to the only international certification for beauty and household brands that do not test on animals, recognised by the Leaping Bunny trademark. The site lists products from nearly 400 companies around the world, certified under BUAV's Humane Standards and carrying the Leaping Bunny on their products. Shoppers can browse by favourite brands, or use the advanced search filters to find cruelty-free products.
GoCrueltyFree.org highlights:
- Search by product type e.g. shampoo, floor polish...
- Search by country
- Search by Vegan and Vegetarian Society approved products
- Find where to buy products online
- Individual profiles for each certified brand
BUAV certified companies include own-brand products from high street giants Marks & Spencer, The Co-op, Superdrug, Sainsbury's and Argos, as well as products made by Dermalogica, BM Beauty, Neal's Yard Remedies, Liz Earle, Melvita, Urban Decay, Burt's Bees and Bulldog Natural Skincare.
GoCrueltyFree.org is packed with a host of new features - visitors can take the Cruelty-Free Pledge, order a free pocket-sized Little Book of Cruelty Free, download Go Cruelty-Free banners to display on websites and blogs, and get involved with BUAV campaigns. In the detailed FAQ area, visitors can find out what it means to Go Cruelty-Free and learn more about BUAV's Leaping Bunny certification. Users can also stay up to date with all the latest Leaping Bunny news by signing up to the email newsletter.
A corporate area of the site provides companies with information and benefits of becoming certified. It also sources the very latest industry news on non-animal tested products.
Michelle Thew, BUAV Chief Executive said, "We are proud to present this comprehensive, global resource for cosmetics and household products which are free from animal testing. GoCrueltyFree.org allows people wanting to live a cruelty-free lifestyle greater choice and convenience than ever before. Please take the cruelty-free pledge to only buy products that are not cruelly tested on animals."
Cosmetics tested on animals outside the EU continue to be imported and sold. A planned 2013 may now be delayed by up to 10 years. Please sign and share BUAV's petition to end the sale of animal tested cosmetics in 2013: http://www.nocruelcosmetics.org
