BullGuard Announces Three new Members to key Management Positions
LONDON, June 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
BullGuard, a leading provider of internet security and mobile security, is pleased to announce the appointment of three new top-level staff. Each has been specifically chosen to build on the company's key principles and stimulate future growth with forward-thinking, innovative development and to maintain excellent communication and knowledge of its consumer-base to drive success in an ever-changing market.
BullGuard confirms the following new appointments:
Nedko Ivanov, CEO
Mike Hodges, COO
Cam Le, CMO
CEO, Nedko Ivanov, brings with him extensive experience following positions as General Manager of Teleplan, COO of Cambridge Mechatronics Ltd and Director of Research and Development at Nokia/Vertu. His initial focus was making the necessary changes to ensure sustainable profitability and putting a strong management team in place to help foster significant growth in the future. The progress made by Ivanov so far has already been credited by the Board.
"Bringing Nedko on board has made a significant difference to the company and I am happy that we managed to attract somebody with his experience and abilities. He has had an immediate impact and we are all extremely excited to work with him to grow the company even further," says Tim Rea, Director of ePlanet Capital.
"The continued potential of BullGuard to increase its market presence became clear to me in a very short time," says Ivanov. "We shall stay loyal to our core principles in providing simple and easy to use internet security, mobile security, and backup software solutions while integrating a mixture of best-in-class technologies with our intelligent plug and play architecture."
On his plans for the future, Ivanov cites a desire to improve product usability even further, making it more intuitive and easy to use for the target consumer base. There will also be a focus on expanding the product portfolio, entering new sales regions, improving the product development process and focusing more heavily on e-commerce to help drive success.
"We may have to redefine the meaning of security in the future," he says. "The current market is getting very saturated and the companies that innovate fast will be the winners in this space. We're determined to be at the forefront of future developments and will strive to reach ambitious targets to build for a new generation of internet security."
Mike Hodges joins as COO from Picsolve International where, as CTO, he focussed on product strategy and innovation. As a qualified Chartered Engineer, he started his career at British Aerospace before moving into R&D design services in the medical and biotechnology marketplace where he became Chief Engineer. From there he spent time as Technical Director with Techne before moving to Tunstall Healthcare as their Group R&D Director where he was tasked with responsibility for the Group's current product offering and New Product Development.
"I'm excited to be working at BullGuard," says Hodges. "It's a brand that I have been well aware of over the years and for me it stands for robustness and trust. BullGuard has come a long way and I'm proud to be given the opportunity to work with the staff, the company, and within an exciting, cutting-edge industry."
Hodges plans to focus on innovation to help stimulate growth by increasing market-share, and with internet security constantly challenged to stay one step ahead of malicious users, he believes it is essential to continue educating consumers as to the nature of modern threats as well as providing cutting edge technology to help combat them.
"With more and more people using their Smartphone to perform online-banking or make online purchases, we will see a shift in attacks to exploit vulnerabilities in these and, of course, tablet devices. Focus will increasingly move, therefore, to protecting our own identity online, to prevent identity theft, and to be alerted when our information has been compromised."
The final new appointment, Cam Le, joins as CMO following her experience as Head of Marketing at Palringo, where she was responsible for Marketing Communications as well as Public Relations. Her leadership helped establish Palringo as one of the fastest growing online and mobile communities in the world. Prior to Palringo, Le was responsible for Product Development at Logitech, successfully managing one of the highest margin and longest selling product lines.
Le plans to increase awareness of BullGuard's brand across the mobile market as well as PC. With a strong background in consumer insights, digital media, and e-commerce, this is where her focus will be to drive increased revenues. With over fifteen years of experience in the technology market, which included Product Development and Global Marketing, Le is well placed to drive awareness and campaigns designed to increase ROI in order to grow BullGuard's market position and market share.
"BullGuard has a very strong brand that effectively combines technical excellence with usability," states Le, when asked what attracted her to the company. "There are a myriad of opportunities to increase awareness and reach, and with new products for the mobile industry, this is an area where we expect to accelerate growth as it is an essential market for us to be in."
