On Wednesday, December 4, a number of industry specialists will join Light Reading Cable/Video Practice Leader Alan Breznick, an expert in the cable business services market, to present "The Future of Cable Business Services 2013." This one-day event, which will be held at the Westin Times Square Hotel in New York City, will focus on the progress that cable operators are making in the roughly $140 billion US business telecom services market and the challenges that they face in maintaining the momentum.
"Cable operators have been making huge strides on the commercial services front over the past five years, transforming the sector into an $8 billion business in the US this year," says Breznick, the conference chair. "Now the big question is how much they can sustain that growth by pursuing midsized firms and larger enterprises and introducing more sophisticated products and services amidst greater competition."
The conference agenda includes panels, presentations, and keynotes from a range of perspectives in the industry. In a morning keynote presentation, Phil Meeks, EVP and COO, Business Services, at Time Warner Cable, will address the opportunities and challenges facing cable operators in the enterprise services market. Later in the morning, Kevin Stephens, President of Commercial & Advertising Operations at Suddenlink Communications, will discuss his company's recent experiences in the business services market. Then, in an afternoon keynote session, Dan Templin, Senior Vice President of Mediacom Business, will share his experiences and views of the business services market.
Additional conference sessions will include specialist speakers from Comcast, Cox Communications, Time Warner Cable, Rogers Business Solutions, CableLabs, Level 3 Communications, Vertical Systems Group, Alcatel-Lucent, Juniper Networks, Cisco Systems, RAD, NetCracker, Oracle Communications, MRV Communications, and more. Prior to the December 4 event, Breznick is hosting a live chat on a special Light Reading message board, which can be found at http://www.lightreading.com/messages.asp?piddl_msgthreadid=57474. During that real-time engagement, which takes place at 11:00 a.m. EST (8:00 a.m. PST) on Thursday, November 21, Breznick will answer live questions from the Light Reading community about the cable business services sector. Anyone who is registered for the Light Reading site can participate. (Light Reading registration is free – see http://w1.lightreading.com/?ngAction=register.)
Also in the run-up to the December 4 event, Light Reading will publish a series of articles highlighting some of the challenges and opportunities facing cable operators in the business services sector.
