Cairns Welcomes Top Executives to its Shores for GDS International's Second Next Generation Oil & Gas Summit in November
CAIRNS, Australia, October 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
GDS International is delighted to confirm the attendance of 65 of Australia's leading oil and gas executives to its second Next Generation Oil & Gas summit (NGO&G ANZ). Taking place from the 7th to the 9th of November 2012 at the Shangri-La Hotel, The Marina, Cairns, this upcoming summit promises to surpass last year's inaugural event and set the standard for future events in the region.
As the worlds premier business-to-business events company, GDS International's summits are known for attracting the finest minds from across a range of industry verticals, and this upcoming event will be no different. Scheduled for attendance at this year's summit include: Mark Fabian, Asset Manager Onshore WA for AWE; Glen Gorton, Supply Chain Manager for ConocoPhillips; Simon Hann, Manager CSG Drilling & Completions for Santos; John Doughty, Director and GM for Rawson Resources; and Jop Van Hattum, Project Manager for Origin Energy.
Preparing for the year ahead and beyond, attendees will be assessing the industry and identifying solutions to combat a variety of common pain points from across the sector. The summit's comprehensive programme has been put together by GDS International's very own advisory board, the NG20, and will be covering a range of issues, from recruitment and training, OH&S services and products, to legislation, risk management and materials handling to name a few.
Kevin Rolens, Director Petroleum for New Zealand Petroleum Resources was an attendee at last year's event. He said: "This was a chance for me to get better informed from many of the experts in the industry, to learn best practice, and some things that are very critical as the industry progresses." In agreement, Catherine Wilson, GM of Operations for AMC Search, said: "It's been a huge benefit to us, we've formed contracts that we would never have had access to, and I think it's a good forum for AMC to be in, to raise their profile in this industry."
Providing a stimulating contrast to the traditional event format, GDS International's summits encourage discussion at a truly granular level. The event is spread out over an intensive two-day programme, and comprises lively, peer-led panel discussions, working lunches, closed-door meetings, roundtable discussions and workshops to give delegates the optimal opportunity to network with a dynamic mix of solution providers, sponsors and business analysts.
Gina Perrin, NG Oil & Gas ANZ Summit Director for GDS International - the global events company behind the event - says: "I'm really excited about the upcoming summit. With a tremendous programme lined up, and what our analyst partners at IDC have called "The best level of delegation they have ever seen at a summit anywhere in the world", this event is well positioned to exceed last year's summit and all other events in the region."
