SHANGHAI, Oct. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Population ageing is a global trend - China became an ageing society 10 years ago. There were over 185 million Chinese aged over 60 (13.7% of the total population) in 2011, but this will rise to an estimated 300 million in 2014. This demographic process will continue and is set to peak around 2030. Thanks to this trend, the care of senior citizens in China is a market experiencing significant growth. The market, now estimated to be worth RMB 1 trillion, is expected to grow to RMB 8 trillion by 2050. Care Show China 2012, an international conference on senior care will be held on 24-25 October at the Hotel Equatorial Shanghai.

Principal of Perkins Eastman, Diana Ming Sung, will give a keynote speech together with president of Hampton Hoerter China, Bromme H Cole, about how international models for senior living and care communities can be adapted to successfully respond to the emerging market demands in China.
There will be 21 speeches and four panel discussions delivered by around 30 international speakers from the UK, Europe, the US, Japan and other countries. They will cover a variety of topics, including business opportunities, practical advice for care operators and government policy with regards to the care of older people in China. Major topics include care models, operation management, rehabilitation and nursing, innovative technology, promoting the development of different care models in China and the Asia region. The event will bring together private sector businesses from different backgrounds and regions looking at successful business models, management advice and investment opportunities in China and overseas. The event is an ideal networking place for industry professionals, government officials, investors and related organizations.
Senior care models, operation and management, rehabilitation and technology innovation will be the highlights. The professionals from Mainland China, Taiwan and Japan will compare senior care models and successful case studies. The American expert, Peter Magaro, will analyze memory problems and treatments for the elderly. A professor of Public Healthcare will give the speech on community healthcare resources and senior care under China's healthcare reform. Hans Ding, CEO of VSI Intel Tech, will deliver a speech about an IOT-based smart care system for disabled elderly, and he will join a panel discussion about what role technology-enabled solutions will play in the lives of senior citizens. Speakers will also discuss new models for in-home care services.
Care Show China 2012 is a must-attend event in the senior care industry. Attendees will not only get the latest policy and information, but will also have the opportunity to communicate with international professionals face-to-face.
