Launched in October 2014 at BBWF 2014, the Sagemcom Fast 5360, next-generation home media gateway, will be showcased during CES 2015 as the first media gateway implementing G.fast, the new Gigabit copper access technology. The Sagemcom Fast 5360 is combining both a residential gateway with a home media center and a rich set of services and applications supported by Sagemcom SwanTM gateway software suite. The Sagemcom Fast 5360 also supports multi WAN technologies: Gigabit Ethernet, GPON/EPON interfaces via SFP module, A/VDSL2 in Bonding mode and VDSL2 Vectoring. The product implements 802.11ac MU-MIMO superior Wireless, DECT CAT-iq for HD Voice, NFC and Bluetooth technologies. It offers a rackable Hard Drive to enable shared multi-room PVR and a rich media center for efficient multimedia sharing and cloud synchronization. It is also ready for a real step towards smart home services by integrating the Sagemcom smart home solution combined with a cloud platform and a large ecosystem of sensors, devices and applications.
As far as cable broadband is concerned, Sagemcom will also unveil at CES its new range of DOCSIS gateways. After the successful launch of the DOCSIS 3.0 24x8 WeMTA, the range integrates a DOCSIS 32x8 WeMTA and is paving the way to DOCSIS 3.1. The GPON residential gateways portfolio is also enriched with 10-Gig EPON solutions.
Sagemcom will also present its new set-top boxes, built by integration of the latest technologies and services. Following the successful 4K broadcast in Brazil during the FIFA World Cup, with the use of first Sagemcom Ultra HD STB, the company will show during CES its 4K UHD HEVC STB range, delivering crystal-clear videos in Ultra High Definition, with 8 million pixels per image and 60 frames per second. The product can also support OTT services, such as Netflix and YouTube, for a wider pallet of contents accessible to end-user, and can bring the Android TV experience to the consumer as well as access to millions of applications thanks to the integration of Android Lollipop.
When equipped with up to 1Gbit/s Wi-Fi ac, the STB acts as wireless access point or client or repeater, to easily share content with other connected devices within the home. The transcoding feature allows adapting the format of the content to be distributed to the processing capabilities of the receiving device(s), including Sagemcom thin client set-top boxes, offering a cost-effective solution to receive the video content on all TV sets in the household.
Finally, Sagemcom will also showcase during CES 2015 its "OneBox", an advanced STB with an integrated gateway offering enriched digital TV, broadband access and home networking services combined in a single device.
