ARNHEM, The Netherlands, June 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Thijs Aarten gave notice of his resignation as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of energy services company DNV KEMA Energy & Sustainability to the N.V. KEMA Supervisory Board yesterday. Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jos Huijbregts and Member of the Executive Board Hans van Haarst also handed in their resignations. The Supervisory Board accepted all three resignations. The new CEO of DNV KEMA will be David Walker, and the new CFO will be Aad van den Bos.
Thijs Aarten, Hans van Haarst and Jos Huijbregts have been instrumental in the effort to find new shareholders and in the first stages of the ensuing integration of N.V. KEMA and DNV. During the integration process it became clear that the CEO, the CFO and the member of the Executive Board do not share the same visions as the Supervisory Board regarding the future of DNV KEMA.
After an intensive six year period in building KEMA globally and resulting in the acquisition by DNV, Thijs Aarten decided to pursue opportunities as an independent advisor in the global energy transition. Hans van Haarst and Jos Huijbregts have both decided to pursue career opportunities elsewhere.
The Supervisory Board has proposed to appoint David Walker as new CEO and Aad van den Bos as new CFO of DNV KEMA. David Walker, from the UK, joins from the position of Group Chief Strategy Officer in the DNV Group. He has more than 30 years of international experience covering the entire energy value chain. Aad van den Bos, from the Netherlands, joins from a position of Divisional Controller, Division Central and Southern Europe & Middle East in DNV Business Assurance. He has 30 years of international experience working with financial and project management.
N.V. KEMA, the Supervisory Board and its shareholders recognize the efforts of Thijs Aarten, Hans van Haarst and Jos Huijbregts in the integration of N.V. KEMA and DNV.
