ISO 9001 is a family of standards related to quality management systems and designed to help organisations ensure that they meet the needs of customers, shareholders and employees through the provision of robust business processes.
Chilworth UK's Regional Director of Process Safety EMEA, Stephen Rowe comments, "We are very happy to report our ISO 9001:2008 certification. Over three years in the making, this certification is much more than a question of 'compliance to a standard', but it is a way to improve the robustness of our processes to deliver consistently excellent outcomes to our customers. Achieving the ISO 9001:2008 certification has required a real commitment and strong customer focus throughout the organisation and has driven us to a mindset of, and a platform for, continuous improvement. We chose BSi as our certification body as an internationally recognized gold standard."
The UK division of Chilworth has experienced steady and strong growth since its inception in 1986. As the company has grown, a more informal mentality has had to inevitably give way to robust written processes to ensure consistent outcomes and assure continued customer satisfaction. To that end, a FT Quality Officer was appointed in 2013.
"What does this mean for Chilworth clients?" comments Chilworth FT Quality Officer, James Paddock. "As a company, we will be more active in soliciting and listening to feedback from clients. There will be formal action recording, follow through and close out. Since many of our clients operate within highly regulated industries, there is a clear path for audits and less "risk" when engaging Chilworth since the ISO 9001 process requires documentation rendering a reliable and traceable workflow."
The formal ISO 9001 certificate was issued on June 5th.
