China-Arab States Expo 2015 to Be Held This September in Ningxia, China
China joins hands with the Arab States in support of the country's "One Belt, One Road" strategy
YINCHUAN, China, Aug. 28, 2015 /PR Newswire/ -- The China-Arab States Expo 2015 will be held in Ningxia, China from 10th-13th September. Jordan will be Guest Country of Honor, following Kuwait's filling the role last year.
As part of its "One Belt, One Road" strategy, China is planning to closely cooperate at all levels with countries along the Silk Road economic belt and the Maritime Silk Road, with the goal of engaging in joint discussions, joint development projects, the promotion of orderly and unhindered economic exchanges and trade, the effective allocation of resources and a deeper integration of markets. Chinese President Xi Jinping said at the 6th Ministerial Meeting of China-Arab States Co-Operation Forum in June 2014, "China and the Arab states are natural partners for the building out of the One Belt and One Road initiative."
The Expo is a key platform for China's "One Belt, One Road" strategy. Jordan, the guest country of honor, expects to deepen cooperation with China through the event. It plans to launch the Jordan National Pavilion, showcasing the unique and advantageous features of the Jordanian nation. It will also organize the China-Jordan Economic and Trade Forum & China-Jordan Enterprise Matchmaking Meeting, the Jordan Investment Promotion Meeting, the Jordan Tourism Promotion Meeting & Project Signing Ceremony, and the Jordanian Art Performance, in a move to drive economic and trade cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between China and Jordan, who will ink a series of cooperation agreements.
With the aim of cooperating with Arab countries to jointly host the Expo, a national and global platform, China established the host and guest selection system and Sino-Arab co-host system. In June 2015, the advisory committee of the Expo was founded and public figures from across the Arabic-speaking world including Ghanim al-Shibli, head of the Arab League mission in China and Abdul-Rahim Hassan Naqi, Secretary-General of the Federation of Gulf Cooperation Council Chambers, were appointed as special advisors.
The Expo has become a platform for discussions between the leaders of countries along the One Belt and One Road, with a focus on the formulation and issuance of policies, economic and trade cooperation as well as cultural exchanges. Interested parties are welcome to join.
