China's Early Warning System Advances Towards the World
CHENGDU, China, August 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
Chengdu Institute of Care-life (ICL), Chengdu Meihuan Tech. Co., Ltd. ("Meihuan Tech.") and I. Trade International Trade Ltd. ("I. Trade") signed a strategic co-operation agreement last week. I. Trade is going to set up the earthquake early warning system in Haiti to reduce the damage and loss caused by earthquakes.
Earthquake early warning is a technology that gives people alarms before the arrival of a disastrous earthquake wave to reduce property loss and casualties caused by earthquakes. This technology is a useful way to prevent earthquake-related disasters in active earthquake belts. I. Trade has placed orders with Meihuan Tech. since 2010 and has set up the on-site earthquake early warning system in schools, office buildings and for families. The system has been tested and proved to be successful in aftershocks in Haiti. I. Trade has then made a decision to set up the more advanced front-detection earthquake early warning system in the whole country.
The earthquake early warning system which is produced by Meihuan is successfully developed by ICL. The institute was established in Chengdu HiTech Zone after the Wenchuan earthquake and specializes in researching and developing the technology with the unique resources of the aftershocks in the Wenchuan area. Motivated by the earthquake early warning technology from countries such as Japan, and helped by lots of experts from home and abroad especially the experts from Institute of Geophysics, China Earthquake Administration, from Institute of Engineering Mechanics, China Earthquake Administration, from Sichuan Earthquake Administration, Yunnan Earthquake Administration, and Fujian Earthquake Administration, etc. ICL developed a creative technology which combines software with hardware into the system. The system has been set up in the Wenchuan area since 2010 and covers an area of twenty thousand square kilometers. The system has since been triggered by over sixty aftershocks.
Earthquakes which happened in Wenchuan, Yushu, Haiti and Japan have caused serious damage to humankind. ICL's technology of the earthquake early warning is improving and will be used widely at home and abroad in the near future.
