CITI and manageID® Software Solution Selected by the NATO Communications and Information Agency for Mission-Critical Operations
- manageID to Serve as the Identity, Credentialing and Access Control Reference System for Phase 1 of the NATO Theater Access Control and Threat Identification (TACTIC) Program
FALLS CHURCH, Virginia, Oct. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Creative Information Technology, Inc. (CITI) today announced the NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) has selected CITI and manageID®, a family of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) identity management, credentialing and access control software products, for the Theater Access Control and Threat Identification (TACTIC) Program.
TACTIC will leverage manageID and complementary professional services to ensure that key in-theater mission-critical requirements are met. These include theatre-standardized enrollment systems and processes, theatre-standardized member badges, a common badge management database, and improved access control capabilities. The common NATO-issued badge will reduce the number of different badges currently in use and establish a clear status for a member throughout theatre. The more secure badge and an electronic badge verification capability will reduce the risk of individuals gaining unauthorized access to NATO installations and secure areas.
"Given the unique military environment in which these badges will be utilized, the security and reliability of the solution is paramount," comments Dr. Sunil Kolhekar, President and CEO of CITI. "I am very pleased that NCIA found manageID the most cost-effective turn-key commercial software solution that can best meet the mission-critical needs of their forward-deployed NATO operations. The application of a common COTS framework, a pre-integrated product suite and straight-forward software configurations further validate how manageID fills a key identity solution gap currently found across multiple markets."
manageID Framework and optional suite of software applications delivers enterprise performance via configurable, scalable and extensible services-oriented solutions. manageID provides identity, credential and permission lifecycle management for private and public sector markets such as immigration and travel, voter registration, national ID / driver licensing, border management, law enforcement, badging and loyalty programs. Access control modules include support for both attended and unattended operations including guard desks and eGates. Patent-pending technologies, including Dynamic User Interface™ and Identity Program Templates™, deliver dynamic configuration capability and rapid incorporation of customer business processes and rules.
