Civil ATC Surveillance Radars - Changing Market Dynamics
LONDON, November 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Orders for civil ATC radars over 2012 have been considerably lower than in recent years. However, despite a gradual decline, a survey released today by ATC Global shows how changing dynamics within the market will keep it buoyant.
While major nationwide programmes in North America and Europe have precipitated a decline in the number of global civil ATC radar sales, the twin drivers of air traffic growth in areas such as China and Latin America and the need for increasingly precise surveillance in developed ATM markets, are keeping the marketplace busy.
This survey examines a wide scope of recent projects and assesses the impact of new challenges such as the need for networked primary and secondary systems to optimize efficiency of airspace management in Europe, the leap forward in technology with Eurocontrol's ARTAS programme and the advent of wind farms.
ATC Global's director, Paula Milburn said, 'As a completely independent platform, ATC Global's reports provide an accurate incite into the issues that matter most to the Air Traffic Management industry. This unique report on the civil market for ATC radars carefully paints a global context that considers all international regions.'
In the lead up to its 23rd gathering in Amsterdam from 12-14 March 2013, ATC Global is continuing to support the industry with accurate research and constructive debate. This, the fifth market intelligence report to be published this year, responds directly to popular demand within the ATM community and follows shortly after a successful Webinar that brought 200 people together from 55 countries.
The report also underlines the growth in radar signal processing and software developments as the market for hardware slowly declines, innovations in this area will be an important feature at the ATC Global 2013 Exhibition in Amsterdam. Alongside the exhibition, ATC Global's three day conference, Real World Perspectives Driving Real World Change will feature some of the industry's most senior representatives who will drive the debate - the event will house the broadest international networking environment of the ATM calendar.
