Former SanDisk General Manager to Lead the Storage Startup
CloudByte, the first company to guarantee quality of service (QoS) to every application from a shared storage platform, announced today the appointment of Greg Goelz as chief executive officer. The former SanDisk Corporation executive brings more than 25 years of experience as a sales and marketing executive, with a successful track record in building worldwide teams and strategic partnerships, as well as growing revenues for data storage companies.

At SanDisk, Goelz was general manager of the Enterprise Storage Solutions (ESS) business unit. He joined SanDisk via the Pliant Technology acquisition and was instrumental in the sale and successful integration of Pliant's enterprise solid state technology. While at SanDisk, he also led the acquisition and integration of FlashSoft and Schooner Information Technology into ESS. Goelz has held executive-level global sales and marketing positions at both startups and Fortune 500 companies such as SGI, Iomega, and Conner Peripherals.
Srivibhavan Balaram, CloudByte founder and initial CEO, has successfully led CloudByte since its inception in June 2011. Going forward, he will lead the company's Asia Pacific (APJ) and European business operations as chief operations officer.
