Comfort Insurance Look at Motor-homing Abroad
LONDON, July 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
With summer currently in full swing it is a popular time for families to take to their motorhomes and head off on a holiday abroad. This should be a time of leisure; a time to relax and explore the world.
Comfort Insurance, a leading motorhome insurance provider, has explained, however, that it is crucial to remember all the necessities when setting out for a holiday aboard a motorhome.
Peter Cue, Managing Director at Comfort Insurance, has been explaining: "With it being the school summer holidays, many families may take to the roads in their motorhome for a lovely family holiday somewhere in Europe. Many may choose to stay in the UK, however a large portion of motorhome owners will head off to European destinations. It is absolutely imperative that if doing so, all necessary details are taken care of, such as ensuring that you are insured for European motorhome travel."
In addition to Mr Cue's advice, holidaymakers should also thoroughly check their motorhome over before setting out. It would be a good idea to check the oil and water levels as well as checking the tyre pressures. If your motorhome hasn't been serviced for a while, then it may even be a good idea, in the interest of safety and reliability, to have your motorhome serviced a week or so before you plan to depart.
Comfort Insurance also recommend that you take a handy guide for the countries you are planning to visit. Some road signs can differ from country to country and not understanding local road signs can potentially be very dangerous. Furthermore, it will be wise to take spare light bulbs, reflective vests and a first aid kit. It's certainly better to be prepared in the event of anything going wrong.
