Consumer Survey Reveals Big Market Demand for Maydan Qatar Services
LONDON, February 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Focus group meetings conducted in Qatar during January 2014 revealed big reception for the type of unique 'news social' services to be offered by Maydan Qatar, a bold initiative by Qatar News Agency using the KnowledgeView Publish live technology. Maydan Qatar aims to be the largest content hub for news and events content in Qatar, supporting the creation of a robust knowledge economy according to the Qatar National vision of 2030.
The Maydan Qatar hub on Web and mobiles aims to serve the Qatar national economy by promoting media outlets, entrepreneurial ventures, investment opportunities, and connecting related parties around useful content and services, published in Arabic and English.
More than 200 people took part in the focus group meetings representing top government officials, company executives, NGO's, media, students and housewives. The survey found that there is a big appetite for Maydan Qatar services, with 89% finding it important or useful to be able to have one primary content hub for all the sources and services needed to promote Qatar economic and social growth. The survey results revealed that more than 60% of those questioned visit different websites and search for information about Qatar at least twice a day.
Maydan Qatar will release first public beta version 'preview' in April, to cover local and international news and events about Qatar oneconomy, culture, lifestyle, sports, education, health technology and sciences, with emphasis on providing users with their own custom news and alerts in unique user interfaces for mobile and Web. Another added value is unique premium news aggregated from internationals such as Dow Jones and Geopolitical Information Service and translated into Arabic for Arabic readers.
