Contax CEO Wins Best in Middle East Energy Sectors with Business Worldwide Magazine
LONDON, September 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --
CEO of energy consulting company Contax Partners, Filippo Fantechi, was celebrating this week after picking up Business Worldwide Magazine's CEO of the Year award for the Middle Eastern Energy Sector, as well as scooping the magazine's Most Innovative CEO, Bahrain (2017) title.
In a sector which has seen many losses in the past few years following a huge slump in oil prices, Filippo has kept Contax not simply afloat, but sailing successfully into new waters. In other words, the strategic CEO has diversified into other areas, more suited to the energy market's climate at that time.
This has resulted in the acquisition of a European engineering consultancy company and expansion into the coal agglomeration technology arena. Another benefit has been the targeting of private equity and investment groups interested in seeking out profit-making opportunities within the energy sector. Then there has been the entry into new international markets in Russia and Bangladesh.
Filippo was delighted to receive both awards from BWM. He said, given the state of the oil and gas sector in recent times, it was clear his company's strategy had to change considerably.
"To continue with the status quo in an ever-evolving market is a recipe for self-destruction," he said.
"We needed to provide a diverse set of services; and they had to be ones which would continue to support our business during a tough cycle in the energy markets. I'm happy to say, we managed to achieve this.
"In fact, we have been able to turn poor market circumstances to our own advantage by helping businesses to survive, and even thrive, during incredibly challenging times."
A spokesperson for BWM praised Filippo for his company's ability to survive where so many others had failed during severe economic times within the Oil and Gas in recent times.
"Being able to record success and thrive in the face of diversity is what makes a first-class CEO, and Filippo Fantechi has certainly shown he has the necessary skill sets," he said. "Both awards are richly deserved."
UAE and Bahrain-based Contax Partners has been in operation now for more than three decades. Until recently it was a business consulting firm for the energy and energy-related sector in these regions, providing project data, research, strategic analysis, risk & growth advisory, and business development (including fund-raising and strategic implementation).
Those who benefit from Contax's service include national and global oil companies, contractors, subcontractors, service providers and equipment manufacturers. Government agencies, investment banks and private equity firms also value the company's expertise and in-depth knowledge.
