LONDON, August 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Cool Chain IQ has just published the results of an industry-wide Supply Chain Survey, conducted recently among 3,000 supply chain specialists. In this report, Cold Chain IQ explores the concerns of key stakeholders in the temperature controlled supply chain and looks at the global trends for securing the supply chain, protecting products and ensuring quality during distribution.
The results showed that that almost 23% of the respondents do not know where to start when it comes to complying with California's 2015 e-pedigree requirements. 13% of supply chain professionals said their companies only acted reactively to specific security issues in the supply chain; nearly 70% of professionals said ease of integration would most improve their track and trace technology. With regard to supply chain visibility, it was the 2nd highest priority for respondents making improvements in their supply chains.
The survey was created as a part of the pre-conference research for the 12th Annual Cool Chain Logistics Europe, taking place 28-30 January in Basel, Switzerland.
The results helped to shape the agenda and final speaker line-up which features Dr Ravi Prakash Mathur, Director Supply Chain Management from Dr. Reddy's Laboratories explaining how to integrate the supply chain and the temperature control distribution community through horizontal pooling LTL distribution strategies and Ian Holloway, Senior Pharmaceutical Assessor from MHRA providing the audience with an update on the requirements of licensed facilities for handling 2-8C products.
Other important topics expressed by survey respondents and will be discussed at the event include:
- IATA insight on new label claim requirements - updates to chapter 17;
- Case study from Novartis: Evaluating and implementing a live tracking and monitoring programme to ensure full supply chain data clarity;
- Pfizer's interactive session: Acclimatising to controlled room temperature and ambient logistics requirements;
- Case study from Abbott: Developing an airfreight programme directly with the airlines
