CorDEX Instruments Appoints New US Sales Manager
MIDDLESBROUGH, England, March 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
CorDEX Instruments has appointed a new US sales manager to North America following strong sales growth.
Scott Lang joined CorDEX from Fluke Corporation where he worked as Western Region Thermography and Infrared Windows Territory Manager.
Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Mr Lang will front the promotion and sale of CorDEX's intrinsically safe and explosion-proof equipment which has been designed for use in the global oil and gas industry.
CorDEX Instruments Chief Executive, Tony Holliday, said: "The United States is a key market for the company where we are experiencing significant interest in our intrinsically safe products. Scott has considerable experience and knowledge of the industry as well as an extensive network of contacts which will help us drive forward our growth strategy in this region."
After graduating from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1995, Mr Lang worked for Lockheed-Martin as a systems engineer on NASA's Space shuttle at Kennedy Space Center.
He left the space programme in 1996 to help start Oceana Sensor Technologies which focused on vibration monitoring and analysis. He then spent five years from 2003 to 2008 working in the residential construction field before joining infrared window manufacturer Hawk-IR which was purchased by Fluke in 2009.
Mr Lang said: "CorDEX Instruments has a growing reputation across the United States and there is an increasing demand for the company's cutting-edge technology as firms seek to enhance their monitoring and maintenance of assets and pipelines. North America represents a significant market for the company and we hope to build upon strong sales in the area."
CorDEX has developed technologies ideally suited to the hazardous environments of the oil and gas sector. The company's intrinsically safe and explosion-proof equipment eliminates the need for shutdown or hot work permits in Non Destructive Testing (NDT) and inspection.
The UK company will showcase its ground-breaking products at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston this spring, including the UT5000 Intrinsically Safe Thickness Gauge UT5000. The portable device does not need a 'hot work' permit and has the ability to rapidly measure metal thickness to establish the extent of corrosion and is combined with intelligent data tracking which, for the first time, provides the ability to build a predictive maintenance program to improve safety.
CorDEX Instruments is a leading manufacturer of intrinsically safe and non destructive testing products for the oil and gas industry and has a network of distributers across the United States of America, South America, Europe and the Middle East.
