CPhI South America 2012 Returns to Brazil with One of a Kind Pharma Event
AMSTERDAM, June 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading events organiser UBM Live, a division of UBM Plc (LSE: UBM), today announced details of the fifth edition of CPhI South America which will take place from 21st to 23rd of August 2012 at the Transamerica Expo Center in Sao Paulo, Brazil. CPhI South America will once again be co-located with ICSE South America for outsourcing services and BioPh for companies working in biotechnical solutions. This is the only dedicated pharmaceutical ingredients event in the region, and in 2012, the pharma portfolio will be complemented by a new co-location with the PTX Expo for industrial powder technology. Both domestic and international attendance to the South American pharma portfolio of events promises to offer extensive business opportunities and maximised ROI for both exhibitors and attendees.
Organised with a focus on providing new market opportunities, UBM Live's portfolio of South American events provides up-to-the-minute information about technology launches and extensive overviews of the current Brazilian and Latin American pharmaceutical markets. Introductions to the programme, such as altered opening hours from 10am to 6pm and the new matchmaking feature that allows guests to pre-arrange meetings, have been made in an effort to streamline the visitor experience and allow for additional networking opportunities. The 2012 events will also feature a new conference room on the show floor to host conferences amongst the exhibitor booths.
The 2012 programme has attracted more than 250 exhibitors, including high profile names like M.CASSAB, Opcao Phoenix, Alchem, Dromex, Finzleberg, Quimica Anastacio and Nortec. The events also have the exclusive support of ABRIFAR (The Brazilian Association of Distributors and Importers of Pharmaceutical Raw Materials), as well as research and information support from leading market intelligence provider, IMS Health. All of these relationships serve to ensure that CPhI, ICSE and BioPh South America offer relevant programme content that takes advantage of current and projected industry information.
"In 2012, CPhI South America, ICSE South America and BioPh will remain focused on increasing global coverage, as well as expanding on the potential of the Latin America pharmaceuticals market. We believe that Brazil is gaining strength in relation to the pharmaceutical industry and the way it is perceived globally. Consequently, this has driven companies in the Latin American pharma market to increasingly participate in CPhI South America," says Events Manager Cassiano Facchinetti. He further noted that, "Brazil's current pharmaceutical sales are estimated at US$19.5 billion. The country has the biggest prescription volume in Latin America and is ranked third in the whole of the Americas behind USA and Canada. With the worldwide generics market growing by around 17% per annum with approximately US$80 billion in sales and projections for growth to US$120 billion in 2012, Brazil is well placed to capitalise on this growth."
Throughout the planning stages of the South American pharma portfolio of events, UBM has remained focused on maximising exhibitor experience through exposure to new business partners and trade media. A focus on increasing visitor numbers means that a great deal of time has also been spent on maximising visitor experience and opportunities at the events. As part of these efforts, in 2012 UBM has aligned with several international road shows and associations in Argentina and Chile, such as Canalab (the Chamber of National Laboratories), Asilfa, Mercatus, Cilfa and Capdrofar. Organisers have also worked to create new partnerships with associations in areas outside of Brazil, including Colombia, Venezuela, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, and Peru to strengthen regional reach in Latin America. On the media side, UBM has confirmed both returning and new media affiliations, as well as creating exclusive partnerships with DIKAJOB and Pharma Connection Worldwide, two social media networks that are focused on the pharmaceutical industry.
