Credo Announces New Technology to Enhance and Streamline Research through EBSCO Discovery Service™
~ Mutual Customers to Benefit from Continued Integration of Library Vendors ~
BOSTON and OXFORD, England, April 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Research just got easier and more efficient for end-users whose libraries subscribe to Credo solutions and EBSCO Discovery Service™ (EDS) from EBSCO.
Credo, the industry leader for information skills solutions, today announced it has deployed new technology that integrates its growing library of Topic Pages with EBSCO Discovery Service. Students who search EDS will now see Topic Pages, which provide a gateway through Credo's trusted multimedia-rich reference content to other library resources, alongside their search results, providing a highly targeted starting point for deeper research. These searches will also retrieve Credo full-text reference entries, and will soon include high resolution images and videos.
EBSCO Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer Michael Gorrell says as a provider of discovery services for libraries EBSCO is always working to improve the end-user experience. "By leveraging this new technology from Credo we are able to offer a new reference layer that sets the context for information discovery and make further use of existing library resources within the discovery environment. This agreement expands upon our partnership with Credo to further address the research needs of libraries and the end user."
"One of Credo's primary goals is to inform users' research process, giving them not only the answers they seek for their immediate information need but providing them with the skills they need to conduct effective research in the future," said Carol Helton, Credo's Executive Vice President of Customer Solutions and Marketing. "By partnering with EBSCO, an established world leader in information discovery and delivery, we are able to leverage our content, technologies and services to meet users at their point of need."
Credo's new technology is available at no cost to libraries that subscribe to both Credo and EBSCO Discovery Service. For additional information please email learnmore@credoreference.com.
