LTE Network Deployment Now Live
Crnogorski Telekom, the largest telecoms operator in Montenegro and a Deutsche Telekom (DTAG) operating company, has selected DigitalRoute, the leading provider of mediation solutions globally, to transform the mediation components of its BSS infrastructure. In the process, Crnogorski Telekom expects to both reduce operating costs and increase its self-sufficiency by leveraging the functional advantages delivered by DigitalRoute's highly flexible MediationZone platform.

Crnogorski Telekom has traditionally operated with three separate mediation systems running in parallel, and is now seeking to simplify and upgrade its overall IT architecture, in particular the mediation element which is responsible for feeding other downstream systems.
Working directly with DigitalRoute, whose MediationZone platform is already the group standard for mediation within Deutsche Telekom AG, Crnogorski Telekom was quickly able to conclude that proven co-operation and an excellent relationship at Group level between the two companies would make DigitalRoute's solution the best choice. Additionally, the ability to tap in-house knowledge and the prospect of reuse of the new platform by other DTAG OpCo's underlined the logic of Crnogorski Telekom's decision.
Since selection, the project has run extremely smoothly and has been a considerable success. The first phase and initial deployment -- for LTE Mediation -- required only eight weeks between initial requirements analysis (in May, 2013) to deployment and then to in-production (in July, 2013). As a result, Crnogorski Telekom is now already operating on the group mediation standard at DTAG. The entire transformation project is expected to be completed later in 2014 when other lines of business are added.
Commented Jasna Mirkovic, IT Director, Crnogorski Telekom, "we selected DigitalRoute for a variety of reasons. It is the market leader in mediation. The company responded enthusiastically to our opportunity and quickly demonstrated the commitment we felt was necessary for the project's success. DigitalRoute looked hard for innovative ways to assist us during the project setup and being able to tap existing knowledge and experts from within DTAG, with resources from Makedonski Telekom, during the deployment itself was another plus."
Jasna Mirkovic added, "impressively the project was delivered on scope, time, budget and with a high level of quality. The relationship between our two companies has proved to be a perfect cultural fit, showing the required expertise, open-mindedness of approach and commitment necessary to ensuring results.
Crnogorski Telekom is the seventh DTAG OpCo to implement MediationZone for Billing Mediation, after T-Mobile Germany, T-Mobile Poland, T-Mobile Czech Rep., T-Mobile Austria, Makedonski Telekom and T-Mobile Netherlands.
Noted Johan Bergh, CEO, DigitalRoute, "we are delighted to welcome Crnogorski Telekom to the DigitalRoute customer family and also to extend our important relationship with the Deutsche Telekom group. The value that MediationZone brings to Communications Service Providers worldwide, in this instance as the foundation of a critical transformation effort, is considerable."
