CSI Joins UBM TechWeb's Portfolio of Leading Information Security Products
- Synergies with Sister-UBM Division Provide Greater Benefits to Security Community
NEW YORK, May 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM Live announced today that select products within CSI (The Computer Security Institute) have transitioned to its sister company, UBM TechWeb.
Based on synergies with UBM TechWeb's IT security portfolio, such as Black Hat(R) series of events and DarkReading.com, the CSI Web site at goCSI.com and CSI-branded webinars will continue under UBM TechWeb's management. Robert Richardson, Director of CSI, joins the UBM TechWeb team and will focus on online initiatives in the IT security arena. CSI Annual, scheduled to take place November 6-11, 2011, has been cancelled; in addition, new CSI memberships and renewals will not be accepted pending re-direction.
"Thirty-seven years ago, CSI was at the forefront of building community in information security," said John Stuttard, SVP of UBM Live, "Changing times and current demands have dictated that we need to change our current model and discontinue offerings that are better served by other resources - many of which reside within UBM TechWeb's portfolio."
EVP and General Manager of UBM TechWeb, Katherine Astromoff comments, "Joining CSI with brands such as Black Hat and DarkReading.com reinforces UBM TechWeb's reputation as IT security professionals' best resource for information and solutions for their workday challenges."
CSI's online offerings will continue and the next CSI Webinar sponsored by Intel will take place June 2, 2011 at 2:00PM ET. Targeting IT security professionals in government agencies and focusing on ICAM, complete details including registration information are currently available on http://www.goCSI.com/Webinars.
