The company today announced the finalisation of an innovative donation agreement with The Olly Fund, which is dedicated to the post-service support and well-being of serving members of The Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR) who have been killed, wounded or disadvantaged by their service.
Describing the agreement, Howard Leedham, the CEO of Dalma Capital, said, "The ingenuity of our agreement is that it is specifically structured to permit qualified UK institutions, citizens and residents to trigger a donation by Dalma Capital to The Olly Fund without it costing the investor a single penny. This is a unique way of undertaking our Corporate Social Responsibility and in doing so provide our clients with an indirect way to participate in this worthy cause."
Leedham elaborated: "Dalma Capital manages a hedge fund but because of my close affiliation to The Olly Fund and the service personnel that it supports I thought it appropriate to correlate our own UK generated business growth with giving to The Olly Fund that works to support the unsung heroes and families of this most special of Regiments. To that end the company has agreed to donate 15% of the UK-sourced fees that our fund generates for our company, to the Fund."
A spokesman for The Olly Fund stated, "We were delighted when Dalma Capital approached us with this unique form of support which is the first of its kind for our Fund. As a result we are always happy to partner with financial institutions that can provide funding."
"We are extremely pleased to see an innovation coming from one of our former officers who is keen to give something back to the former and serving members of the Regiment who greatly value the support given by Dalma Capital."
Leedham noted that "there are many billions of dollars invested from UK into hedge funds, and our Fund which is EU domiciled is open to such qualified investors. Of course our fund must be taken on its own due diligence and investment merits but this programme specifically ensures that any return of investment to which the investor is entitled is completely unaffected by the choice of our donation, it is solely Dalma Capital that bears the cost of donation. We are delighted to have the opportunity to give back to the very brave members of the SRR and to support such a critical area as their bereaved families."
The Olly Fund concluded: "We are very grateful that Dalma Capital is offering to support our service personnel. Funding from the private sector enables our Regimental Charity to provide a more flexible vital support mechanism and we hope that this initiative can turn into a long-term commitment to help us deliver on our mission of supporting the former and serving members who serve the Special Reconnaissance Regiment and their country so well."
