STOCKHOLM, October 8, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

"Last year, e-commerce grew by 14 percent in Denmark, which is twice as fast as in Sweden. We believe that this trend will continue creating great potential for us in Denmark since it is strategically an important market for us. We already have a couple of customers in Denmark, but since we are opening a new office we can approach both the Danish and the southern Swedish markets in a completely different way," says David Holender, CEO at Vaimo.
In 2013 Danes shopped online and spent a corresponding 58.3 billion SEK.[1] The main difference to other markets is that the Danes prefer to pay with the national debit card - Dankort. In Sweden and other markets it is common to use global payment solutions or payment by invoice. As Vaimo is developing its services based on specific country requirements, the closeness to Danish customers and its market is important for Vaimo.
Vaimo has launched more than 400 e-commerce solutions on the Magento platform, and is one of the leading Magento Gold Solution Partners in Sweden, United Kingdom, Norway, Denmark, Finland and South Africa. They recently launched new e-commerce sites for brands like Filippa K, Naturkompaniet, Björn Borg and Triumph. Vaimo also develops and maintains its own modules and features for Magento.
"The strengths of Magento are both the amount of standard modules and the enormous opportunities to develop special features. In Denmark, Magento and its standard modules are widely used among the smaller e-retailers. Our goal is to get more medium and large businesses in Denmark, who need advanced e-commerce features and deeply customised solutions, to use Magento Enterprise, since it's the number one platform of choice for brands in the Alexa 100K," says David Holender.
Vaimo is growing rapidly. In 2013 the company increased its sales by around 50 percent while its profits doubled. Vaimo expects to continue to grow in Sweden, but also expand in other markets since foreign markets already account for more than half of its new sales.
