Announcing the Most Innovative and Fastest Growing EdTech Start-ups to Watch in 2016
EdTechXEurope, Europe's leading education technology focussed conference, has today confirmed the winners of its EdTechXGlobal All Stars Rise 20 as DigiExam, Dnevnik, and Show My Homework. The winners of the EdTechXGlobal All Stars Growth 20 were also announced, which were Abintegro, Life Is Tech and Study Portals.
Formally known as the EdTech 20 ranking, this year's awards has undergone a re-brand, while also including the introduction of four distinct categories, two of which were announced at this year's EdTechXEurope summit on the 15-16 June.
EdTechXGlobal All Stars Rise 20
The EdTechXGlobal All Stars Rise 20 honoured companies who demonstrated the most significant innovation in the past year. The 3 winners were:
- Dnevnik - Full-stack SaaS communication, collaboration and analytics tool for K12 teachers, students and parents based in Russia
- DigiExam -- Based in Sweden, is the leading secure end-to-end digital assessment and grading platform for schools and universities.
- Show My Homework - UK-based online tool for viewing and setting homework used by over half a million parents, teachers and students every month.
EdTechXGlobal All Stars Growth 20
The EdTechXGlobal All Stars Growth 20 included those education and training companies who have shown the most revenue growth momentum over the last 3 years. The winners of this category are as follows:
- Abintegro - Career empowerment platform serving HE institutions, HR services and corporates based in the UK
- Life is Tech - Coding bootcamp operating face-to-face classes across Japan and digital coding content globally
- Study Portals - Global higher education course service provider for the international student community located in the Netherlands

The EdTechXGlobal All Stars Awards is determined by a global panel of judges, evaluating various factors including revenue growth, scale, innovation and market impact. For each category, the awards aim to showcase the top three start-ups across geography, segmentation and industry trends.
The six winners received prizes to enable the continued growth of their companies from the partners of the EdTechXGlobal All Stars awards, including specialist technology-focused law firm Kemp Little, leader in global skills development, the City & Guilds Group and specialist investment and corporate advisory group IBIS Capital.
The awards took place during the annual EdTechXEurope summit, where entrants were inviting to spend the day networking and pitching their start up to the 800+ global attendees and 135+ speakers. Finalists have also been awarded the opportunity to join the EdTechXEurope team at worldwide partner events including Slush, SXSWedu, WISE and the QS Reimagine Education Awards.
