Domino's Delivering More award is given to a store or individual who has gone above and beyond in their commitment and enthusiasm to promote the brand, as well as recognising how important it is to make a connection with their local community. It is also about displaying passion and dedication to providing excellent customer service.
Store manager, Aziz, bravely jumped into the River Severn to help rescue a man who was drowning. Aziz was making a delivery late at night last year and observed someone struggling in the river. He acted quickly and without thinking about his own safety jumped in to help rescue this man. He was sent a letter by the West Mercia Police, who thanked him for his swift actions that undoubtedly saved this man's life.
Aziz Shaikh said: "I am absolutely delighted to win this award. I was not expecting it and was very shocked to hear my name. I love working for Domino's, it is an exciting and vibrant company and you get out of it what you put in. It was never my intention to be a hero, I just wanted to do all I could to help the guy in the river. I am so glad to have made such a difference."
Domino's Pizza franchisee, Arvi Salariya, added: "We are all very proud of Aziz. He goes above and beyond in a working capacity every single day and this award highlights that there are no limits to what he will do to help others. This award is so befitting for such a wonderful person."
Domino's Pizza's annual awards recognise the talents and hard work of the franchisees and in-store team members from the company's 810 stores in the UK, Ireland and Germany.
