Dotmatics Appoints Dr Rob Brown From BIOVIA as Vice President of Global Informatics

Dotmatics, the leading provider of scientific informatics solutions and services, announced today that Rob Brown, PhD, from BIOVIA, Dassault Systèmes (formerly Accelrys) has joined Dotmatics in a newly created position of Vice President of Global Informatics, reporting to Dotmatics' Global Head of Commercial Operations, Richard Lingard. Rob is a trusted member of the scientific informatics community and has an extensive knowledge of informatics enterprise solutions, business trends and customer needs. As part of his new role he will convey Dotmatics' vision to the scientific community.

Having gained his PhD at the University of Sheffield under Professor Willet's supervision, Rob began his career over 20 years ago at Abbott Laboratories before joining BIOVIA, then Molecular Simulations (MSI), in 1997 as Head of the Combinatorial Chemistry Consortium. In 2002, Rob moved to Scitegic to lead their cheminformatics marketing. Rob returned to BIOVIA when Scitegic was acquired. Through roles of increasing levels of responsibility, his input was key to the development of BIOVIA's life sciences informatics plans including cloud and mobile strategies. Achievements throughout Rob's career include advances in the areas of Combinatorial Chemistry, in-silico Drug Discovery, Cheminformatics and Knowledge Management.
