Dylan 'dylan12' Davies Scoops the Sky Poker Jackpot!
LONDON, September 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
One of the online poker room's most popular characters has won the £6,500 Sky Poker Jackpot after winning two flagship tournaments on the same night.
Some said it couldn't be done. However, online poker room Sky Poker is celebrating its first Jackpot winner this morning after Dylan 'dylan12' Davies proved the doubters wrong and accomplished what many thought would be poker's very own 'mission impossible'.
Davies of Llandysul, Wales showed that winning two of the biggest online poker events on SkyPoker.com on the same night was indeed possible, and in one of the most action-packed tournaments on offer. Having secured the win in the 8.15pm 'Mini Bounty Hunter', all eyes were on the Welshman as he navigated his way to the final table of the £8,000 Bounty Hunter.
The brace of wins secured Davies the £6,500 Jackpot, making him the first player to achieve the feat since the Jackpot was set up a little over three months ago.
"The Sky Poker team couldn't be more pleased for Dylan," said Sky Poker's Dave Bland. "He's one of the most popular characters within the Sky Poker Community and his win last night in not one but two of the Main Events on Sky Poker show he's an incredibly talented poker player, too."
The £6,500 Jackpot win goes with dylan12's tournament winnings - £1,238 and £249 in bounties in the £8,000 Bounty Hunter and £180 plus £51 in bounties from his win in the 8.15pm 'Mini Bounty Hunter'. That left Davies with an overall haul of £8,218 for a total buy-in of £25.30! With players aiming to win cash prizes for eliminating players, winning two tournaments in this particularly frenetic format is even more impressive.
The Bounty Hunter is one of the most popular formats on Sky Poker, and is also the preferred format for Sky Sports viewers too, with Thursday night's often seeing Sky Sports broadcast live coverage of the £12,000 Sky Sports Bounty Hunter.
The Sky Poker Jackpot has now reseeded to £5,000, with an extra £100 added to the prize for each week it goes unclaimed. To give yourself a chance of winning the bumper payout, head to Skypoker.com.
